MBBS admission process in India

Admission process for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and BHMS

Medical College Admission in India (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS) 2020-21 is going to start soon. There is a bare and minimum eligibility criterion for admission in these courses in India. You have to complete 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum percentage that is needed in the 12th standard is 50% for the general category and 40% for the reserved category.

Requirements for MBBS:

To get admission in the MBBS course weather in a private institute or government institute, you have to qualify NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). In the 2020 16 lakhs, students appear for the exam to get admission in the colleges all over India. Qualifying NEET makes you eligible for getting admission in almost every institute in India. Requirements for BDS:

Requirements for BAMS:

This course requires great concentration power for the students. The course includes reading modern science and ancient Ayurveda texts. Requirements for BHMS:

Duration of the Courses

MBBS: The overall course duration for MBBS is 5.5 years. Which includes 4.5 years of academic course and 1 year of mandatory internship. After the completion of the course, you can get experience in hospital wards by providing treatment to real-life patients. Practicing and performing clinical procedures help them to become more successful doctors.

BDS: You will be awarded the BDS degree after completing the 5 years course. This also includes 4 years of academic education and 1 year of internship education. This course is pursued through full time and part-time courses.

BAMS: BAMS degree is awarded to you once you complete the 5 years and 6 months course duration. This course includes 4.5 years of academic courses along with 1 year of internship. During the internship period, the student is taught live practical.

BHMS: Once you complete the 5.5 years course the BHMS degree is given to you. There are 4.5 years of academic course with 1 year of the internship program. You can also achieve a degree through distance education.

Syllabus for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and BHMS

After Medical College Admission in India (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS) 2020-21 the subject division are as follows-

MBBS: The syllabus of MBBS in India is divided into three phases. For your reference, we a showing the division of subjects according to the phases.

Pre-Clinical Phase:

This phase includes semester 1 and semester 2. The subjects included during this phase are Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology.

Para-Clinical Phase:

This phase includes three-semester namely semester 3, semester 4, and semester 5. The subjects covered during this phase are Community Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Clinical postings inwards of the hospital, etc.


This phase includes four semesters which include semester 6, semester 7, semester 8, and semester 9. The subjects covered during this phase Community Medicine, Medicine, and allied subjects (Psychiatry, Dermatology), Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Surgery & allied subjects (Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology) and Clinical postings.

Internship syllabus:

To complete the MBBS course it is compulsory or you to complete the 1-year internship. During this period the student gets live experience during this internship period. The concerned department also keeps track of the medical students. During this period the students are also taught how to keep a good relationship with the patient.
