The Differences Between MD And MS Courses

MD is a postgraduate degree course in Medicine while MS is a postgraduate degree course in General Surgery. MD is mostly non-surgical, though surgery can be a part of the MD course in certain branches. After MD or MS, one can start his or her practice, join as a teaching faculty in a medical college, or apply as a specialist doctor in the government-run health sector or private hospitals.

MDS or Master of Dental Surgery is a post-graduate degree course in Dental Surgery The course is of three years duration and can be studied in most of the dental colleges in India. To qualify for MDS, a student has to complete BDS from a dental college recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
