There are plenty of students every year who remain confused about the next steps after the NEET result. And if you remain confused there is a high chance of making the wrong decision.

We, therefore, have tried to discuss everything regarding the steps taken after NEET. So, don’t ask anybody “what can you do after NEET?”, rather keep reading.

What is the NEET result?

NEET stands for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is a standardized entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical and dental courses (MBBS/BDS) in India.

NEET replaced multiple entrance tests conducted by different state and medical universities in India in 2016.

NEET is conducted once a year, usually in May. This year the examination is going to be conducted on 7th May 2023. The exam consists of 180 multiple-choice questions, and the duration of the test is 3 hours. The questions are asked from subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

The exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based), and the result is used by various government and private medical colleges for admission purposes.

Differences between NEET Score and NEET Rank

Just after the NEET result is out, you need to calculate your NEET score and predict your NEET rank.

Yes, NEET rank and NEET score both are different subjects to state about!

NEET Score: A NEET scorecard is given to every student who has appeared for the NEET examination in that particular year.

NEET Rank: A NEET rank is given to a candidate based on their scores or percentile. For instance, suppose a student has scored between 720-715, then the rank of the student should be between 1-19.

More or less the rank of the students helps to make an idea about the score the student has secured.

Before proceeding with the NEET counseling procedure, you must have an idea of the job opportunities you can avail of after NEET completion.

    NEET Couselling Process:

“What next after NEET exam” – is an utterly disturbing question that disturbs the mind of a candidate just after the NEET exam. After the NEET results, NEET counseling is the process a candidate must undergo.

The counseling process is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota seats, and by the respective state counseling authorities for state quota seats.

Before the introduction of NEET, the admission process for medical education was complex, with multiple counseling authorities and application forms, making it difficult for candidates to navigate.

Even if candidates knew the number of available seats, the various eligibility requirements added to the confusion.

To clarify the post-NEET admission process for MBBS/BDS courses abroad, it’s important to understand what happens after the NEET exam.

    1 Registration:

The first step is to register for counseling on the MCC or state counseling authority website, depending on the quota you are applying for. You will need to provide your NEET roll number, application number, and other personal details to complete the registration process.

    2 Choice Filling:

Once registered, you can fill in your preferred choices of colleges and courses. You can choose as many options as you want, and you can change your choices until the specified deadline.

    3 Seat Allotment:

Based on your NEET rank, preferences, and availability of seats, you will be allotted a seat in a college. You can either accept the seat or opt for a further round of counseling.

    4 Document Verification:

After seat allotment, you will need to physically report to the designated counseling center with all the necessary documents, such as the NEET scorecard, identity proof, and educational certificates. The documents will be verified, and you will be issued an admission letter.

    5 Admission:

Finally, you will need to report to the allotted college within the given time frame and complete the admission formalities. If you fail to do so, your seat may be forfeited.

Through the NEET counseling process, the candidate undergoes the entire procedure of taking medical admission. After reading the entire discussion, hope you don’t need to ask “What can you do after NEET?”.

Medical admission is a bit competitive in India compared to any other foreign country. In government colleges, the cost of studying MBBS is low but the competition is high whereas in private colleges fees are too high.

Due to this dilemma, several students find studying MBBS in the abroad countries much more profitable. We have assisted more than 400+ students to study MBBS the foreign countries.
