Once the NEET UG exam results are declared, the NEET UG counseling process gets started. Through NEET Counseling, students get allotted seats in MBBS and BDS courses only after they have secured qualifying scores. This process is practiced throughout India, and this is the second most important step after the NEET UG exam.

During the NEET UG counseling process, students can select medical colleges according to their NEET score, budget, category, and preferences. However, this whole NEET UG counseling process is conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), and it consists of a few rounds. In the counseling process, 15% of government college seats and 100% of deemed university seats are reserved, and these seats are called All India Quota seats. The state quota holds the remaining 85% of medical college seats.

NEET UG Counseling is not only filling out the application form or paying the gateway fee, but it also involves some more serious actions that can shape a student’s medical future ahead. It is important to understand key factors before going for NEET UG Counseling, like NEET rank, cut-off analysis, reservation criteria, fee structure of medical colleges, location selection, and many more. If you make any mistake, it can cost you a precious medical seat or even a year after getting a good score in the NEET UG exam.

So, this is the reason why NEET UG counseling is the most important step in MBBS admission. With proper guidance, one can secure their seat in the desired medical colleges across India.

Who Conducts NEET UG Counseling in India?

In India, NEET UG Counseling is mainly conducted by two government authorities, which are MCC (Controller of All India Counseling) and various state counselingcommittees responsible for the respective state counseling.

The MCC NEET UG Counseling is responsible for conducting 15% of all-India counseling, which is mainly held for government medical and dental colleges across India. The apex authority is also responsible for conducting counseling for Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER. Eligible students can participate in MCC NEET UG Counseling through the official website across India.

On the other hand, the state medical counseling authorities are responsible for organizing the remaining 85% of the state quota seats available in government medical and dental colleges in their respective states. Additionally, they also conduct counselingfor 100% of the seats in the private medical and dental colleges within a certain state. Every state has its rules and regulations based on domicile and eligibility criteria. The students can apply through the official website of the respective state authorities.

As the counseling process is quite complex, it is wise to seek help from a counselor for NEET UG. They have gained experience over the years and can guide you with utmost sincerity.

How to Apply for NEET UG Counseling?

You will be allotted a seat at the result round based on your NEET rank, preference, and availability of seats.
  5. Allotment Letter Download:
